Decided to play and mess around with mods for gta v single player, all goes well for a few hours. Graphics card gets hot, from snow mod, system initiats shutdown, bsod error. Removed mods same things happen after a few hours of normal gameplay.
Linking it to graphics card driver issue. Updated graphics card drivers, all is well. New update for windows 10 available. Successfully updated, restart. Tried to play gta v again, game is slow and eventually locks up pc forcing a hard boot. Tried again, same results. Went off to do other things. Checked resource manager, 6, mb reserved for hardware, 1, mb in use, mb standby, 32 mb free. Searched and searched, nothing is solving the issue.
Restored windows 10 completly deleting all except personal files using windows recovery feature. Problem presists. Continued searching for a solution, still no luck. Still no luck on a solution, decided to try different graphics card AMD Radeon R9 - original card same results. Found out it has to do with memory sticks. Swaped them from slots 1 and 3 to 2 and 4, no change.
Put in one stick 4gb installed 2gb available. Swaped them out, same results, sticks are working, system detects them as working properly.
Swaped them both 1 to 3 and 3 to 1 , no change. Ran memory scans, no problems detected. Uninstalled graphics card completly and system installed drivers for integrated graphics incase the memory was reserved for the card itself, same results.
Tried to find memory mapping settings in bios, no luck. Any help is appreciated, thanks for reading. I tried the number you suggested and put it to max as well, applying and restarting each time. It does save the settings though atleast. In reply to Tundrawolf42's post on December 5, You should only select Max memory to restrict the amount of memory being used. Can you reset your bios to defaults, just to be sure.
